Mr Jim Prentice is trained, well-experienced, very well connected law professional who is seeking the PC leadership nomination. Till very recently, Mr Prentice was holding the very prestigious position of Senior Executive Vice-President and Vice-Chairman of CIBC. He has served as one of the most senior Ministers in the Canadian Government as Minister of Industry, the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Bell Canada (BCE Inc.), a member of the Board of Directors of Canadian Pacific Railway and a member of the Board of Directors of Coril Holdings Ltd. He is the Canadian Chairman of the Trilateral Commission. He serves on the International Advisory Committee of Lafarge Group. We belive our membership will really benefit from hearing from his vast experience and expertise in these fields and more.
Dr. David Liepert, an Anaesthesiologist with the Alberta Health services is also the founder and President of Calgary Islamic Chamber Institute. He is also the President of LoveStrong Shah, a business and media consulting company dedicated to promoting productive multi-faith and multi-community relationships. He was past-Chair of Calgary's Abraham's Tent Interfaith Dialogue group and he currently serves as VP and official spokesperson for Canada's Faith of Life Network and is a National Board member of the Canadian Islamic Chamber of Commerce. From his position on the faculty of the Canadian Centre For Deen Studies --training tomorrow's Imams today-- he advises the Canadian Imams Council regarding Interfaith matters, and he is also the author of Muslim, Christian and Jew: Finding a Path to Peace our Faiths can Share
David Angus, President and CEO, The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce is committed to the Chamber movement. He volunteered as board chair and later, in 1999 was hired as the current president and CEO of The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. David has served on many boards and global organizations for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the American Chambers of Commerce Executives; Premiers Economic Advisory Council; City of Winnipeg Red Tape Commission; YMCA/YWCA; United Way of Winnipeg and many more. Currently, David is Chair of the Joint Public Advisory Council for the Commission of Environmental Cooperation of North America. Under his leadership, The Chamber has increased its membership to the highest level in its history (more than 2,050 corporate members) and has been recognized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce as an Accredited Chamber with Distinction. A recent Probe Research poll also revealed The Chamber is the most credible, trusted business organization in the province
